Aaaaah, I just love the water.....
just throw me off the boat and leave me.... really, it's ok.
I love scuba diving and the Total
Sub dive fest in Grand Cayman is always a good time. This year I nearly had to
cancel due to work conflicts, but I made it and had the best time, as always.
Sunset House is by far the most diver friendly place I've ever known. The dive
shop staff were wonderfully friendly & helpful as always. Besides the many
wondrous dive sites we visited by boat, Sunset House has great shore diving with a
beautiful reef, wrecks and a mermaid statue right off the shore of the
hotel. There were about 80 divers this year, split into 5 groups. A fun bunch of people,
all of whom came to play and dive with the other scuba folks. We played silly
games like musical chairs, pass the grapefruit and had an underwater poker run.
The staff at Cathy Church's photo shop saved the day for me and fixed some
camera troubles I was having. Thanks to Kat and Lara, my photo of two squids in
a courtship display won the Grand Prize for best underwater photo! I think they
will be publishing my photo in Sport Diver Magazine later this year!
This was my fourth PADI Dive Society event (third
Total Sub at Cayman) and I plan to join them for many more in the future.
If only I could live my life on a perpetual dive
vacation!
I am learning & getting better with underwater photos. Below is a
sampling:
