True Corset Fabrics |

These are fabrics made for corset making. They are strong, tightly woven and somewhat stiff. Nearly all the corsets I build use one of these fabrics as either the base or only fabric.
These fabrics are ideal for use in the single or double layer corsets.

Plain Cotton Coutil Imported from England or Germany, 100% cotton in a herringbone twill weave (The German coutil is stiffer with a smaller twill weave than the English. Neither is better than the other.)

Damask and Brocade Coutils Imported from Europe (France, Germany or England) Due to currency exchange rates and import costs, some of these are very expensive and can add to the price of the corset. They are the highest quality unique corset fabrics. Due to their high prices I keep very limited amounts in stock.
