Bon Ton corset model # 852 "Princess Hip"

Bon Ton corsets were the one of the higher end lines of corsets manufactured by Royal Worcester in Worcester, Connecticut (USA)

From the 1907 Royal Blue Book (Royal Worcester's catalog):

"Model 852 is adapted to the requirements of the medium slender figure. It is very prettily designed, and made from fancy silk batiste in fetching patterns. Has average low bust and moderately deep princess hip. May be had in white, pink or blue. Sizes 18 - 26.

Price $4.00"

Corset is constructed of a single layer of a faded pale blue figured silk with flat felled seams.  Bone casings are applied to the inside and bones are set in pairs. There are 12 steel bones per side including a 5/8" wide side steel. Flossing (embroidery) accents the end of the two front bones along the botton edge of the corset. 15 grommets per side set 5/8" apart. This corset is an 18" waist, has a 10 1/2" busk within an 12 1/4" center front length and a 9 1/2" center back length. It also has it's original silk lacing.

Dual purpose center front hook allowed the wearer to hook her skirts in place and fasten down a number of garments she may choose to wear (such as her corset cover, a form of bust improver, a brassiere or a belt) (pretty darn handy little hook!).
