The modern
victorian corset-bodice is a lovely navy and silver silk brocade lined in
English coutil and edged in self-bias. Decorative spiral lacing along each
side seam with dual colors of satin cord running through and left long to
tie decoratively. Same double cord lacing is functional at the center back of
the corset. The delicate double layer silk chiffon sleeves are detachable and feature the same opalescent beaded fringe used to make the
drape.
The Skirt is made of heavy silk crepe backed satin and has a wonderfully liquid
like movement when she walks. Shown attached to the skirt is the "drape", a long
shaped double layer silk chiffon scarf of sorts with an
opalescent beaded fringe hem. There are many ways to wear the drape,
tied to the corset and skirt in a number of different configurations or
simply as a wrap draped over the head or shoulders.
