1866 Ball Gown

Reproduction of an 1866 fashion plate from La Mode Illustre

This gown consists of several period accurate layers of garments:

  • Chemise of white handkerchief cotton with broderie Anglaise

  • Drawers of white handkerchief cotton with broderie Anglaise

  • Corset of white English coutil

  • Corset cover of white handkerchief cotton with broderie Anglaise

  • Elliptical hoop skirt

  • Petticoat of white handkerchief cotton with broderie Anglaise

  • Underskirt of teal silk taffeta

  • Overskirt of white silk satin with lace trim

  • Bodice of teal silk with white silk satin, cotton voile and lace trim 

 

This gown was custom and has been sold.
